Donner Summit is one of the closest communities to the Bay Area and features amazing skiing and outdoor activities. Although not as close to amenities like restaurants, and shopping  Donner Summit makes up for it with quick access to tons of hiking, biking, skiing, rock climbing, and more! In fact, the Pacific Coast Trail runs right along Donner Summit! The area is full of history relating to the early Indigenous People and early American settlers. Snow tends to come earlier and stick around longer here because of the high elevation (about 8,000 ft).

Soda Springs - The center of Donner Summit living. Quiet and family friendly neighborhood that has a store, gas station, and a few other services.

Norden/Sugar Bowl - Easy and quick access to Sugar Bowl mountain boasting some of the best skiing in Tahoe. Donner Ski Ranch also offers snow fun and a year round restaurant famous for their pie.

Serene Lakes - Farther from Hwy 80 than the other neighborhoods, Serene Lakes offers seclusion and the opportunity for lakefront living - without the hustle and bustle of Tahoe.
